Last night our activity was to go back to the neighborhood train. This time we invited some of our church friends to go with us. Even though it was FREEZING, we played in the back yard first...
We had smores again, but I was much more responsible with the fire this time. No one came close to getting burned...or burnt? Whichever it is, everyone stayed safe. And cold.James was photographer at the train again. Here we all are before it started...
Hunter, me and Charlotte - I promise she's more excited than she looks. And as far as Hunter goes, that backyard is so overstimulating with all of the lights and excitement, you can't really expect your kid to actually smile for a picture and look at the camera.
Jeurgen and Janis (I'm about 100% sure I misspelled Jeurgen's name here. I think they'll cut me some slack with the spelling, since those names are for sure more popular in Germany than in America.)
Betty with Blake and Jackson - Again, Blake's and Jackson's faces do not reflect their actual feeling for the train ride. Blake was smiling ear to ear the entire time the train was going, and after the ride was over, Jackson said, "This is the best end of school EVER!" (It was his last day of school today before the Christmas break). They were both really excited about the train! So cute.
Lydia waited with Finn and James, and they watched the rest of us on the train. Sweet Finn is just 3 months old, so I felt so bad that it was so cold. He was wrapped up pretty well, though, and Lydia said it was good practice for when they go back to Germany...I guess it starts getting this cold in October over there.
Finally the train took off! The wind felt like knives in my ears...but Hunter had fun so it was worth it:) (I know. I'm totally mommy of the year.) This is the only picture that turned out during the train ride...
That girl in front of us was really excited. She kept yelling, "Merry Christmas!!!!" at the top of her lungs.
After the ride was over Blake, Jackson, and Hunter rode again...
We had so much fun at the train! Can't wait for next year!
Our verses for tonight were Matthew 2:1-2 "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, 'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'"
