So Hunter was less than thrilled about tonight's activity. He was so excited to take out the message, but as soon as I read it, he loudly exclaimed, "NO!" And then rolled around on the floor for a little bit. Getting a little spoiled are we? This makes me nervous for what's to come on December 26th.
Wednesday night activities have to be really short and simple ones because we have church, so I thought singing Christmas songs was perfect for the night. We each chose several songs to sing...Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel, Away in a Manger, Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and we attempted The Twelve Days of Christmas, but had to stop after day 5 because James and I couldn't remember anymore:) Hunter would beg to take a turn and when we told him to go, he would make up a "song"...really just a tune with made up words, not real words, but actual words he had made up. He loves to sing and usually remembers words to songs really well, so it was interesting. I think he just couldn't think of a song to sing, but really wanted to have a turn, so he'd just babble a tune for us with the biggest smile on his face.
Our verses tonight were Luke 2:18-20 "and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told."
