Friends

This past Friday night James, Hunter, and I went to our friends, the Pointer's house for dinner and games. There were 4 couples and 4 babies, so the games part of the night didn't happen for obvious reasons. It was good to hang out and catch up though! Poor Hunter was upset on and off throughout the night, which made sweet little Judah (who's almost 4 months) upset too! Every time we tried to take pictures, Hunter was screaming. These are the ones we got, though!

Jackson, Hunter, Judah, and the back of Presley (this is the only picture I got of her because I stopped taking them to comfort my sweet boy).

Zack's Preschool Graduation

Zack graduated from preschool on Thursday night. All of the classes sang several songs and then each one in the 4 year old class walked across the stage to receive his or her diploma. As they walked across the teacher said their name and what they wanted to be when they grew up. There were several funny ones like a crane operator, a daddy, and my personal favorite - spiderman! Zack wants to be a construction worker when he grows up! Here are some pictures from the night.

Busy Boy

Hunter and I have been getting out a lot more lately, going to baby showers and midweek (at church) and Super Target (we go here a lot because I love this place) and to his Grandee and Poppy's house to visit with family since Aunt Melanie and Uncle Bob were in town. I love this because it was getting old being stuck in the house all the time, but my poor little Hunter has been super fussy because of some problems in the digestive department - that's all I'll say because I don't want to be that annoying mom who blogs about her kid's poop. Here's a pic of us at my friend, Kim's baby shower!

"He's a baby. He doesn't know how to act right."

My sister, Katie, brought my niece and nephew, Vanesa and Zack, to visit Hunter this week. They come visit him often, which I love because I love getting to hang out with my niece and nephew (and Kate!). And I so love to watch them love on my sweet boy! This time when Vanesa was holding Hunter he kept grabbing and pulling her hair. (He loves to grab my hair every time it's down, so I've pretty much given up on fixing it - it takes too long to fix anyway.) When Zack noticed what was going on, he said, "He's a baby. He doesn't know how to act right. He doesn't know how to not be bad." He's 5 and pretty much cracks me up! Here are some pics of all of them together.

Tummy Time and Dog Pee

Okay, I have to preface this entry with letting y'all know that if you're an animal (especially dog) lover, you may not want to go on reading because I'll probably come off as very insensitive to you, and I wouldn't want to ruin my reputation of being a super sweet sensitive girl :)! So, I've come to the conclusion that the previous owners of our house used Hunter's room as the dog's room, and apparently they just let their dogs pee on the floor without ever cleaning it up. I had not really noticed the stains that much until I started doing tummy time with Hunter. We attempt 20 minutes (more like 5 usually) of tummy time everyday by me lying him down on his tummy on a blanket (that his Grandee got him specifically for tummy time!) on his bedroom floor. I started noticing that it smelled like pee everytime I would lie beside him during his tummy time torture session. So on Saturday I frantically began scrubbing his carpet with Spot Shot until I grew EXHAUSTED because I kept finding more and more pee stains. I suddenly realized they were ALL OVER THE ROOM!!! So I gave up because I was disgusted that someone would let their nasty dog pee all over the carpet only for my poor, sweet baby boy to lie on it and crawl on it! I went to wake up James to tell him that I'm immediately scheduling professional carpet cleaning and if it doesn't work, we're pulling up the carpet to lay new clean carpet (never to be peed on by animals). When he awoke and went into the hall he was hit in the face with the most horrible smell ever because Spot Shot lifts odors out of the carpet so well that if fills the ENTIRE HOUSE. I of course was thinking it was smelling so bad because I had just had my face in dog pee for the last half hour. The best part though is that now when you walk in our house it smells like dog pee - in every room. Please, let your dog pee on the carpet more. Thanks. Anyway, I've attacted some pics of Hunter doing tummy time because they're super cute and you can see how he's improved in only a few weeks! Maybe he screams so much during it because he can't stand the pee smell?!

Easter Sunday

We really wanted to go to church for Easter Sunday, but James and I were exhausted from being up with Hunter the night before. So, we just met James' parents (Grandee and Poppy) for lunch at Good Eats. Here are some Easter pictures of us! I love Hunter's cute bunny hat! His Aunt Katie bought it for him as part of his Easter present.

Hunter's Pictures

My friend, Emily, came over when Hunter was 1 week old and took some GREAT pictures of him! Here are some of our favorites. You can view all of them by going to her website - it's listed as giggles and grins under my links section - and clicking on Family Portraits. His pictures are listed under Hunter Brooks.

Visitors and Hunter's Swing

We've been blessed with lots of visitors bringing meals and gifts and love to us and Hunter. We are so thankful for all of the friends and family that God has blessed us with. Here is a picture of Hunter and I with my friends, Lisa and Tricia, who came by to visit yesterday.

I put Hunter in his swing for the first time yesterday, and he loved it! James came in from doing yard work and went to Hunter's room to find him in his swing, and he loved it as well! It was so exciting for me to see James light up after he saw Hunter. I've never seen him so giddy!

Nana

My mom came and stayed with me during the day last week since James went back to work. She was a really big help! She took Hunter and I to Super Target - his first of many outings there because I LOVE that place! We also went to his 2 week check up on Friday. Here are some pictures of his week with his Nana!
