Advent Day 9 - Bake Treats for Family

Technically we were supposed to bake and deliver treats to family, but I was pretty uncomfortable this morning at church and convinced myself I deserved a nap (yes, 2 days in a row!) while the kids napped, so we didn't get to the delivering part.  Hopefully tomorrow my sciatica will be better because that's when we're planning to deliver!

We made peppermint fudge...
It was super easy to make.

These festive rice krispie treat ornaments...
Another pinterest find.

We also intended to decorate the brownies we made to look like Christmas trees, but everytime we used the cookie cutter to cut out the shape, they were too soft to take out of the pan in the same shape.  So we just kept those for ourselves:)

Here's our packages and 3 extras...

Our verses for tonight were Luke 2:6-7...
"While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them."

James asked the kids if they knew what a manger was and Hunter said, "It's what they eat out of!"  When James said, "Who eats out of it?", Char said, "The animals!"  I love that they are learning all of the details so early.  What a blessing to be able to teach them all about our Lord's incarnation.
