James opened the advent door for Day 7 with the kids before school this morning, and I heard the squeals of excitement from the back of the house after he read it. They were so excited to have friends over to go ride the neighborhood train with us.
There's a sweet man in our neighborhood that builds a train in his backyard and runs it every night from 6-10 pm, starting Thanksgiving and goes all the way to New Years. I am amazed by his generosity to our community. He offers FREE rides every single night! We go every year, and it's always a favorite of our kids.
This year we invited the families from mine and James's Sunday school class to go with us. The kids had so much fun making s'mores and playing together...
And then it was time to head over to the train! Char told me from the beginning that she was going to sit with Ashley and Amelia, and she did just that...
The boys...
I think it's hysterical that Hunter and Ronnie are holding hands:)
Silly boys...
They were so excited! And still holding hands!
Our kids and the Satterfield kids rode three times! Here's their last ride...
We had so much fun! And I love that my kids get to see an example of such a generous man!
Our verse tonight was from the Old Testament, Micah 5:2...
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.”
It was a little over the kids' heads, but we talked about the prophecy of Jesus' birth waaaay before he was born.
Our God is amazing.
