Spring Break Day 7, Zoo!

On day 6, we went to lunch with James and then had a (sort of) movie marathon at home.  The kids fell asleep during the first movie:)

Then today we went to the Dallas Zoo...

Penguins!
Later in the morning, we rode the monorail and learned that there are about a dozen species of penguins and only 4 live in cold climates.:)

When did those two get so tall!?!

Then we got to the Giants of the Savanna...

All week Hunter has been our map reader wherever we go.  He's better at it than I am!

They always love this jeep...

The cheetahs came out for a feeding right as we were walking by!

Our neighbors, The Thomas's, met us at the zoo today and found us right when the cheetahs were starting their meal.  Jocelyn and Brooke wanted a picture in the jeep, so we went back over for another one...

Then we headed for the monorail...

Then lunch, koalas, kangaroos, birds, and of course dancing...

More birds...

And finally, we ended with the carousel.  Char had been begging all day, so she was crazy-eyed happy when we finally got there...
...until it started moving and she realized that the lion (her animal) didn't move up and down.  Then the water works and hysteria started.  I was proud of her for calming down by the time it was over, though.

It was a fun morning!  We love our annual zoo trip!

Tomorrow is Hunter's birthday party, and he is soooooo excited.  I hope it lives up to all of his expectations!
