Spring Break Day 1, Rainforest Cafe!

Since we're not traveling for Spring Break, we're going to try to do something fun in town everyday.  I made a jar of fun ideas and the kids get to draw one each day.  Last night the kids were so excited to draw for their first outing!  They drew....
LEGOLAND!   So I got online to buy tickets for today, but they were completely sold out:(  So we went to the Rainforest Café instead.

We got to Grapevine Mills around 1:00 and naïve me, thought that there wouldn't be a bad wait since it was late for lunch time.  We were quoted 2:10-2:20 for a table, so we decided to walk around the mall and check out all of the fun things for kids.  They rode a kiddie ride, watched these kids floating around in huge plastic balls in the water, went to the Disney Store and Game Stop, and finally we headed back to the Rainforest Café.  We had to wait about 20 more minutes, and we had already looked through the little Rainforest Café store before checking out the rest of the mall, so we sat by the big alligator until our table was ready...

Finally around 2:35, they called our name!  The kids each got paper hats and we headed to our table...

Grey's was a little big:)

Hunter and Charlotte got some balloon animals while we waited for our entrees...
Char chose a red monkey and Hunter a light blue parrot (his picture didn't turn out).  We were starved by the time we got our food, and even through my starvation, I thought the food was below average.  It was then that I remembered why I hadn't been in so many years:/  You definitely go there for the ambiance, not the cuisine.  The kids really enjoyed all of the animals, lightning storms, and trees, though.

Tomorrow we will go to lunch with our church friends after the service, and that will count as our Sunday activity.  We're all looking forward to see what the kids will draw for Monday afternoon, though!
