WDW Day 2: Magic Kingdom Morning

We had a suite this time, and the plan was for Grey to sleep alone in the pullout couch and for the 2 bigs to sleep in the murphy bed (close to the area where Grey was), and James and I would sleep in the bedroom in the queen bed. Grey was having a hard time sleeping alone on the pullout, though, and he was moving too much for Charlotte to fall asleep in bed with him. So we ended up putting him in the queen bed with James while I slept on the pullout couch. Worst night of sleep for me ever. We quickly wised up and put the 2 bigs on the pullout couch while one parent slept alone in the murphy bed for the rest of our nights there.

My alarm went off at 6:15 so that I could make sure we all got ready and got to Magic Kingdom early for rope drop. Grey woke up while I was getting ready (since he was sleeping in my room!), but the big kids slept right through. Grey was so excited that he eventually jumped up on their bed and woke them up...

By 7:45 we were walking to the bus stop and we got to Magic Kingdom about 25 minutes later. This was our earliest arrival and we had an awesome position close to the entrance. We were so excited!

Since the opening show didn't start until ~8:45, we had some time to kill, so the bigs and I went over for some pictures in front of the train station...

...while James and Grey saved our spot...

Pretty soon after that the show started and we were on our way! The mad rush to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (thankfully that's not where we were headed)...

The castle!

And if we had the park to ourselves, this is what we'd see...

So beautiful!

We headed to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain first. Since Grey is too small, we got a rider switch pass so James could ride later and not wait in line (we did a lot of that this trip!). There was an AWESOME ride photo of me, Hunter, and Charlotte during the ride, but for some reason it didn't connect to our magic band, so it's not in our account:( Hunter's face was priceless. The kids (especially Hunter) were nervous to ride space mountain, but ended up loving it. I, on the other hand, did not. It was so jerky that the whole time I was focused on holding my head in place because it felt like my neck would snap at any minute!

James and Grey rode the people mover while we were on space mountain and we had planned to meet in front of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Somehow, we beat James and Grey to Buzz...
They arrived a couple of seconds later, and we headed inside to ride. Some ride photos...

Grey was still taking it all in at this point, so he didn't want to shoot his laser at the Zurgs. Next time around he joined in, though!

Zurg!
Grey was too scared of him (of course he was saying, "Not hurt you!"), so we didn't get him in the picture.

Then we headed to Astro Orbiter...

Hunter had to ride alone...it's so tough being the oldest kid...
He only had to do that a handful of times on the trip and was a really good sport about it.

I love this ride. Its just like Dumbo, but it's up high (you take an elevator up to it) so you get beautiful views of the park and castle! It's even better at night, but we didn't do that this trip.

Next up was the Tomorrowland Speedway. Hunter drove James, and Charlotte drove Grey and I (with my help on the pedal)...
Grey's face!

Hunter and James rode in front of us, and Hunter was a terrible tailgater!! I felt so bad for the people in front of them.

Then, we went to the Winnie the Pooh ride. There was a small wait for this one, but that was fine with us because there is an awesome interactive queue for the kids to play in...

Family selfie on the ride!
The first of many times that James's head gets cut off in a picture.

Then we went over to new Fantasyland to ride Dumbo...

Grey squeezed in with James and Char...
Right next to Dumbo is the Barnstormer, so we headed that way. I was nervous about this ride because we were going to have Grey ride since he's tall enough. I thought he might freak out, but it went so fast, I don't think he even realized what was happening enough to freak out beforehand. Hunter also had to ride alone on this one, and he was nervous on the way up. He kept telling me he was nervous and didn't want to, but we just kept walking and he ended up loving it. This would be a pattern during the trip:). Char and I pre-ride...
James said Grey did fine, but that he grabbed onto him during the big drop. The ride is over so fast that I knew even if he hated it, it wouldn't last long.

We squeezed in one last ride before lunch, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid. This is one of my favorites at Magic Kingdom. It's so bright and colorful! It broke down for a minute or two, so I took a picture of the kids in our clamshell while we waited...
The flash made them blink:)

Of course Char had to pose with King Triton after we finished...

We grabbed lunch at Pinnochio Village Haus, which I really liked last time, but did not get a good dish this time. Grey loves Pinnochio, so he was excited to see all the artwork. He kept shouting, "Nochio!"
This was one of the few meals that we didn't make him sit in a highchair and you can see why. He's a blur because he's ALWAYS moving.

After lunch we headed back to Tomorrowland so James could ride Space Mountain with our rider switch pass. We stopped for some castle pictures on the bridge over...

Space Mountain!

Grey and I rode the People Mover while they were on Space...

He got lots of rides on this during the trip, but as you can see, he loves it!

We were all tired and ready for a nap after that, so we headed out and caught a parade on the way to the exit!

Perfect bit of magic to end our morning!

We had to wait for our bus back to the resort for quite a while, and Grey was over hanging out in the stroller, so he kept running around. He would charge into the street so fast that I was getting too nervous to let him stand, so I danced and sang to him while we waited...

We were wiped and ready for our nap!
