Come Inside, It's Fun Inside!

Grey adores Mickey Mouse.  All day long, he looks at whoever is watching him with his sweet eyes and says, "Memow, Donul", begging to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  So choosing his birthday theme was super easy this year...

Happy 2nd Birthday, Grey!!
I can't believe our baby is 2!

We had some photo booth props for everyone to pose with...

And chocolate favors...
That's another thing Grey asks for all day, "Can-dee!  Can-dee!"

As usual, I was running late when people started getting there.  Luckily, it was mostly family...

I had just finished putting these Mickey Mouse cupcakes together when mom took that picture...

Grey loves to dance to the Hot Dog Song at the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so we had a Hot Diggity Dog bar...

Photo booth pics...

Granpda gave Grey that 100 dollar bill he's holding for his gift...
Big spender!

Grey's friend, Grayson, saw how much fun Grandpa was, so he climbed up there, too...

Love the Crees!

And my sweet Nanny and Grandad!

Cupcake time!

Grey almost grabbed the flame, so I told Char to blow it out really fast...

Elyn posing in her Minnie Ears...

Hunter and Cousin Zack...

The Snyders...

After playing, it was time to open presents!
I made the mistake of giving my mom's present first and then Dee and Frank's (both Mickey toys), so Grey was completely uninterested in the others.  I opened them for the most part and tried to coerce him to come over and take a look.

Vanesa took some pics for me, so she had to get some selfies in...

It was a super fun party!  So thankful to our friends and family for celebrating our boy!

What a weekend...

And it's not even over yet!

Yesterday (Friday), I was running around the house getting ready for Grey's party (which was this morning) when I heard a thud immediately followed by Charlotte frantically yelling, "Grey!"  I ran into the living room (I was just right there in the kitchen) to find Grey face down on the floor.  He was crying, but not screaming.  It was a different cry from what he usually sounds like when he is hurt, and when I picked him up, I was immediately concerned.

He was completely limp, and when I looked at his face, his eyes rolled back into his head.  Then they rolled around another time, all the while, him completely lacking muscle tone.  After 2-3 minutes, he was alert enough for me to sit him up in my lap, but his head just lagged down to the side.  After another minute, he would hold it up for a second or two, but then it would drop.

I panicked and called James.  Then hung up, and called my friend, Kim, who is a PA, to ask if I should call 911 or try to drive him to an ER.  She told me to call 911 because of his neck.  Of course, I started crying the minute Kim said hello, and tried to calm down when calling 911, but was still a blubbering mess.  I had to repeat my address twice because the dispatcher couldn't understand me.  While I was talking to her, I was holding Grey in a cradle position, and he kept closing his eyes, so I tried to keep him awake.

Anyway, the firemen and paramedics finally got there, and by then, Grey was much better, but he was so frightened when 7 men dressed head to toe in black stormed - actually they just casually walked - into our house.  He was so scared of them.  The main guy said that he seemed to be acting appropriately and looked good, but that it was up to me.  I decided for them not to take him, but after they left, I loaded him up in the car to drive him to the ER myself just to get checked out.  Here's what he looked like by the time we got there...

That kid was giddy.  Giggling and running around the waiting room, making his parents look like idiots for bringing him there...

He was not a fan when we went back into the room.  He did not want them touching him and battled from the start.  They were really good with him, though, and the doctor said he looked fine...
He said it may be a concussion, but he didn't even think it was that because he seemed to look so great then (it had been an hour since the fall at that point).  He gave us a sheet on head injury in children and told us for some things to watch out for and we left.

My mom had come over to pick up Hunter and Charlotte while the paramedics were at our house because Cousin Zack's party was at 5, so she drove them over for that.  When we left the ER, James and I drove Grey to grab dinner at Raising Cane's, and then I drove him to join everyone at Jump Street for Zack's party...
No jumping for this kid, but he did get a cupcake.  After the day he'd had, I'd say he deserved it!

He was back to himself this morning when he woke up and had a great party (post on that to follow!), and then we headed to Hunter's basketball game.  My mom and Nanny came to watch Hunter play, so I finally got to take some pictures of him since I had help with Grey...

Hunter had a great game.  He's getting more aggressive with each practice and game.  He took several shots and even stole the ball to dribble down the court to his basket one time.  We were proud of him!

As usual, Grey and I spent some time in the hall...

He brought his new Donald to the game...

Char's not a huge fan of sitting at the games, but luckily she had Nana and Nanny to keep her company today...

Posing for Nana after the game!  The Jazz won 25 - 13 (or something...honestly, I don't remember the final score.  They're 2nd graders.)...

Tonight, we went to dinner with Nana, and then she and I went to the movie.  We'll miss her when she goes back to Corpus tomorrow!
