Disney Day 1 - Magic Kingdom!

We were so excited to go back to Disney World!  Once again, Poppy picked us up bright and early to head to the airport.  The kids were giddy on the drive over...

At least the older two were:) There was bad traffic on 635, so we were all starting to get a little stressed out about getting to the airport in time.  Everything worked out, though, and they let us go through the first class line at security...actually, they did this at both airports.  I was so thankful that they were considerate of young families that way!

All three kids did awesome on the airplane, so James and I were feeling pretty optimistic when we got into Orlando.  After another fun ride on the Magical Express, we were there!!!
We stayed at Pop Century again this year because it was such a great resort last time.  Our room was ready when we checked in, so we headed up to drop off our bags, and then went down to the food court to grab a snack since we had missed lunch.

(This trip was definitely a different experience than our last one to Disney World (sleepless nights because of a sleepless baby take some of the magic out of your Disney vacation), but we still loved it and can't wait to go back...in a couple of years once our baby isn't such a baby anymore;).  This year I purchased photo pass ahead of time, and because of that and my state of exhaustion, I didn't take many pictures with my camera.  Our photo pass cd won't be ready for a while, so most of the pictures in the blog posts are poor quality iphone pics.)

After our snacks, we hopped on the bus for Magic Kingdom.  We took a quick (photo pass) picture in front of Cinderella's castle and then headed to use our first set of fast pass pluses.  James and Hunter went to ride Buzz while Charlotte, Grey and I went to meet Cinderella and Aurora.  Then we all met back up to head to Tom Sawyer's Island...

We missed that the last time, so the kids were looking forward to exploring it.  I thought it had a big playground, so that's what I had told them.  It turns out, it's a little more rugged than that, so they were a little disappointed.  We were at Disney World, though, so we put our happy pants on and headed to our next fast pass plus attraction...

Enchanted Tales with Belle!  I'm so glad we booked fast pass for this because the line was over and hour and we got to skip it and walk right in.  Charlotte got the part she wanted...Chip!

After that we headed around the corner to Pinocchio Village Haus for dinner.  I got a flatbread pizza that was actually really good.  After filling up, the boys and girls separated so Charlotte and I could meet some more princesses while the boys rode Pirates of the Caribbean.

Charlotte was so shy meeting her favorite princess...

Snow White was meeting next door to Rapunzel...

Snow White was my favorite character of the trip.  She took so much time with Charlotte and really tried to engage her.  Char is so shy with the characters that they usually just ask her name, sign her book, take a picture, and we're done.  Snow White was so sweet and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know Charlotte a little bit.  Char really enjoyed meeting her.

James and I had our phones on and would text each other whenever we split up to see if the other one was ready.  I texted him, and the boys weren't done yet, so Charlotte and I rode the carousel...

And the teacups...

When we still hadn't heard from them after the teacups, we almost headed over to New Fantasyland, but then I realized that James's phone may have died. So we headed over to our meeting place for the night, Mickey's Philharmagic.  James's phone had died and the boys got stuck on Pirates (it stopped twice, once for 10 minutes!), so we got to have a 20 minute conversation with the cast member at the front of Mickey's Philharmagic while waiting for the boys.  Apparently, Mariah Carey was there with her kids, and she had walked past that ride about 5 minutes before we walked over.  The cast member we were chatting with was a little star struck;).  By the time the boys got there, Mickey's Philharmagic was closed because they were getting ready for the fireworks for the night, so we all headed over to Tomorrowland to ride the People Mover (one of Hunter's favorite from this trip).

After the People Mover, we grabbed a spot in Frontierland for the Main Street Electrical Parade.  Wishes (the fireworks show) was scheduled after the parade, but we were all so tired from our long day, that we skipped the fireworks for that night and headed back to the hotel after the parade was over.

Grey blessed us with a full night of sleep that night.  It felt so good to wake up rested that next morning...if only we had known what we were in for over the next 4 nights!

Favorites of the day...
CAROLE - Mad Tea Party (I loved watching Char ride this...she was having a blast!)
CHARLOTTE - meeting Snow White
GREY - napping in mommy's lap...I guess there was nothing glaringly obvious this day;)
