Happy Birthday, Dear Girl

Charlotte,
You are 7 today. Seven! I love you so much, sweet girl. You have given me something that no one else in the world will be able to just by being my only daughter. As I prayed over you tonight, I am forever grateful that God chose to give me a daughter, and that you were the daughter he chose for me. You are animated, talented, kind-hearted, gorgeous, smart, encouraging, faithful, caring, and brave. Be who you are, my love, and don't ever be sorry for it. My heart is so full because I get to be your Mama...
XOXO,
Mommy

Cruisin' (part 2)

Day 4 - Grand Cayman
We grabbed a quick breakfast on the 4th morning before heading out to Georgetown...

By the time our tinder boat was called, it was raining pretty hard. I was freezing by the time we made it to shore. Then we had to run in the rain toward the tents where everyone was huddled. In the rush, we somehow lost Hunter, and even though it was brief, I cried so hard when we found him. Hunter told me that I was embarrassing him because I was crying so hard! I couldn't help myself, though. After I recovered, we headed to join the millions of others under a tent...
See how packed we were!
Hunter wasn't feeling it...

After standing there holding my 3 year old for what seemed like eternity, they finally called our number, so we headed to the bus...

Our first stop was this place called Hell. The black coral apparently turns red when the sun is setting...

It was actually pretty amazing to see in the daytime even...

The next stop was this shop that had rum and rum cake...

And then the sea turtles!

There was a man that stopped Hunter as he was getting in the tank with the turtles and made him take his shoes off...
...and less than a minute after that picture, he cut his foot on the floor of the tank pretty badly. There was blood all over and I was nervous he was going to need stitches. I felt so bad for him because he kept saying how bad it hurt and we were kind of stuck on our tour. Thankfully, we had some bandages and medicine.

After the sea turtles, we headed to swim with the stingrays, which was the highlight of our whole tour. Our bus driver dropped us off and left and about 5 minutes later, the lady running the boats out to the stingrays told us that we couldn't go because there wasn't time. It was a total bummer, and everyone in our group was pretty mad.

It was a disappointing day, but there were still some highlights, and I'm glad we got to see a little bit of Grand Caymen.

We cleaned up for dinner pretty soon after we got back...

Our second towel animal!

That night we headed to the ice skating show (James stayed back in the room with Grey)...

I enjoyed it, but the kids were definitely snoozing!

Day 5 - Jamaica
James, the kids, and I headed out to an excursion with just our family this day. We had a great time! It was our favorite port!

We had to ride a bus for about an hour out to the park, so Hunter wasn't thrilled about that...

But once we got there, we saw and did so many cool things.
Dolphin show...

Fun on the beach...

Walking through the "jungle"...

A water slide...

apparently if you didn't get in just the right position going down, you kind of had to scoot yourself along:)

And swimming with the stingrays!! We were so thankful that we go to do this since it didn't work out the day before...
They are rough on top and slimy on bottom.

Sharks (and a shark show)...

Kayaking!
We were all going to go, but when I realized there was no seat belt, I decided that Grey should sit out, so we watched from the beach chairs.

We let the kids get souvenirs and Char chose hair braids...

They were cute, but I swear a month later, her hair is still not the same. It still feels kind of crunchy to me.

Dinner with the fam...

Aunt Katie got braids that day, too!

Hunter with his escargot!

Zack's not a fan...

That face!

He said it was just ok (but that's not what his face said!)...

We ended the night with a movie at the pool!

and ping pong!

Day 6 - Cruisin'
I didn't take many pictures during the day on the 6th day. We just hung out at the pool and played some games.

Then that night, we had our second formal dinner...

Lobster!

Grey cracks me up in these...

Cheese!!

That kid is so funny, y'all...

Our third towel creation...

Beautiful sunset!

Ready to climb the rock wall!

None of us made it to the top that night. I had to drop because it was so high and was scaring me. James and Char tried again the next night, though!

Last day!
Our last day we went to the pool again and then played bingo...

We didn't win, but it was fun!

Then Hunter, Char, and I went ice skating...

Char wanted to hold my hand until she got the hang of it, while Hunter wanted me to leave. him. alone. while he figured it out on. his. own. In the end, they were both skating on their own, so I was proud!

Our last dinner...

This was our waiter, Marco...

Happy early birthday to us!

Then, Charlotte and James went to try the rock wall again...

And James conquered it!

Char is one determined girl and tried and tried to reach the top. I was proud of her!

We had such a great vacation making wonderful memories. We're so thankful to Nana and Rich for taking us!!
