Advent - Day 18

Hunter is obsessed with fires and fire trucks and fire fighters right now.  Anytime he hears a siren, he stops and hushes everyone and looks around for the fire truck or "ambliance".  He also loves to make his own siren noises (especially in the car), and I have to say, he can make a very realistic siren.  It's ear piercing:)  He's also requested a fire truck birthday party this year and loves to play with his fire trucks and police cars at home.  So tonight when we went to Safety Town in Frisco, Hunter was in awe.  He was amazed at all of the fire trucks, and then we walked in to this...

He was definitely in his element!  It was the best feeling to watch him as he excitedly moved around the fire truck so joyfully.

I told Char there would be face painting when we were driving out there, so she was so excited when we found the room for it.  She was a little timid when we got up to the chair, though, but quietly picked the candy canes and watched the artist out of the corner of her eye the whole time...

Hunter opted not to get his face painted, but sat down to color some Christmas sheets...
We just noticed today that he's getting really good at staying in the lines when coloring.  I can't believe how grown up he seems!

After coloring, we headed outside to the little "town", and at the first house, there was a real live fire fighter putting on Christmas tattoos.  I didn't get a picture of H getting his because I was just taking in his delight to be so close to a real fireman!  We told the fire fighter all about Hunter's upcoming (well, in March;)) fire party...

Since I didn't get one inside, I asked Hunter to show me his tattoo once we got outside, and he held it up and said, "Pshhh!  There's fire shooting out of it!"...
Hysterical.

We found this digger (another one of Hunter's favorite vehicles), so of course we had to pose for a picture...

One of the last houses we went in was this school...

Char didn't want to color again, but H made a picture where he practiced making 6's and wrote his name.  You can see it on the top right (He's working on the r)...

We had such a good time at Safety Town!  We'll definitely be back next year!

Our verses for tonight were Matthew 2:3-4 "When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.  When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born."

Dum dum dum!  Such a cliff hanger...stay tuned to see what happens next;)

Ooohhh! Sounds like car rides are super calm and fun for yall!! Gotta love the sirens. At least he's speaking correctly. When Isaac was obsessed with fire trucks, he still said "F" instead of "T". If you catch my drift. There was a lot of cursing in our car and it wasn't due to road rage.
