Summer Fun

We've been having lots of summer fun, but I haven't been the best about taking pictures of everything. Lots of days at the pool and lots of movies. The 2 bigs and I are watching Percy Jackson as I type this. It's one of Charlotte's current favorites. We also went to see Inside Out at the theater with Nana and Zack last week. I'm so thankful Nana was there, because the 2 of us just took turns walking around with Grey outside of the theater. His first movie-going experience wasn't that movie-filled. Char and I also went to see Tomorrowland one night while Hunter was at home having a sleepover with a friend...

The Thayers came in town for a week a couple of weeks ago and the kids had such a great time with their cousins. Everyday they went somewhere fun while I was at work, and we would all meet up for dinner every night. We went to the Rangers game the first night...

This was the best I could get after several attempts!

We went to Hawaiian Falls Thursday, because I unexpectedly had the day off. I didn't get any pictures, because I was alone with all 3 kids. Zack was actually there helping, and my friend, Teresa, was there with her 2 girls, and she was really helpful. Charlotte was excited to be able to spend the day with Macy.

Saturday we went to the Arboretum. We didn't last long, because it was HOT. On the way back to the children's garden, Charlotte would ask me to take her picture about every 3 steps. After a while, I actually told her we needed to just keep moving so we could make it to the children's garden. I never thought there would be a day where she wanted pictures more than I did!

VBS started today and the kids had a great time. They were each surprised to see several friends there that the didn't realize were attending. Looking forward to another fun-filled week!

Beach Bums

On day 4, the girls (and Grey) had a shopping day while the boys went out on Nana and Rich's new boat...
Hunter's too cute in that hat!

They had a great time and each of the boys even got to play captain for a little bit...

Our shopping trip was pretty short because I was hobbling around with my broken toe and Courtney isn't much of a shopper. We came home and watched some Paw Patrol...
...and then had dinner. That night we played some games and then went to bed to rest for our last beach day.

The next morning, we suited up and headed back out! The kids love their boogie boards...

All the cousins...
Hunter, Zack, Keira, Charlotte, Vanesa, and Grey

I limped down the beach with Grey while he explored the different mussels. He loved picking them up and throwing them into the ocean...

We took a rest in the shade after a while, because my toe still REALLY hurt...

Then he went back out with cousin Keira (with some adult supervision!) to dig in the sand...

Shortly after this, Charlotte and James came back from the beach with little Charlotte crying in James's arms. She had fallen on the seawall and scraped up her leg really bad. Since there was blood everywhere, we rushed to clean up and take down the tent to head back home. No family picture on the beach this year:(

That night, we went to Doc's for some yummy seafood, and then hung out one last night. The next morning we headed back home. The original plan was to stop at the Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown on the way home, but with my broken toe, there was just no way that was happening. Maybe next year!

Beach Life

After our fun beach day, we came home and cleaned up before dinner. After we finished eating, Nana had this fun candy game for all of the kids to play. She had rolled a bunch of different candy into a cellophane/plastic wrap ball, and each kid had 30 seconds or so to unwrap as much candy as possible. I started taking pictures during the second time around. We started with the youngest first, but I didn't get a picture of Keira until the next round.

It was a fun way to end the night!

The next morning, most of us woke up sunburned, so we took a break from the beach that day. Instead, we all went to the aquarium...

They had several different stations, even a shark touch tank!
Apparently, sharks feel rough like sandpaper, and not wet and smooth like you'd think. Hunter and I opted against touching them:)

It was another fun day!

We went home to another home cooked dinner and some of us relaxed in the hot tub, while the rest of us watched movies. Then right before bed, I walked into the kitchen and ran into Nana's kitchen table. I tend to be a little dramatic, but it hurt sooooooo bad. I looked down and my baby toe was dislocated and facing perpendicular to where it should be. I was screaming and grabbing my foot and my mom was telling me we had to put it back in place. I yelled "NO!!!" and she said she had some medical tape and that we could just tape it. I yelled at her the whole time she was taping it...I guess mothering is always a thankless job, no matter how old your kids are:/

Hunter kept yelling at my mom to stop touching me because she was hurting me (probably because I kept yelling, "YOU'RE HURTING ME!!! STOP IT!!"). And I guess he also said he was going to hit her if she kept hurting me. Yikes! It's not easy having such a dramatic mother, I'm sure. I try to tone it down sometimes, but I am convinced that I just feel more than other people feel most of the time. It's too much to contain. My foot eventually swelled up and turned black and blue and I hobbled around for a long time. I barely have a limp now, but my baby toe is definitely not as flat against it's neighboring toe as it used to be. You can still see a sliver of a space. I'm thankful that it's on the road to healing, and I'm ready to be able to walk like a normal person again:)

Stay tuned for days 4 and 5...
