Bluebonnet Hill

I've always loved the beauty of spring, but this year it is just breathtaking to me. Being out in Sachse this year, I have been reminded of how much I used to love this season. It is gorgeous out here! This hill is in our neighborhood, and Charlotte has been begging to go for several weeks. We finally made time Sunday after church, but next year we'll for sure go earlier. The weeds were already starting to grow up over the bluebonnets. Also, it was crazy windy (and kind of cold) this day, which makes for not great pictures (the wind and the fact that I was trying to keep up with my kids in tall wedge shoes and a dress)...

Grey wasn't thrilled. It's definitely his naptime here!

I think this one turned out cute, though...

Char is always quite the model...
The wind doesn't even phase that girl!

Hunter actually cooperated well, too...

And the 2 bigs had so much fun running up and down the hills...

Sweet Little Fairy

Char's taking a tap and ballet combo this year, so for recital she'll have 2 dances. Loving her cute fairy costume...
It's probably my favorite one yet! The wings and tutu come off for the tap number, but I didn't get any full body pictures of her without all of the accessories.

Saturday was picture day, so I took several shots before we left for the studio...

She came up with all of the poses herself:)

Love that girl!

And one with her sweet friend Madison after they were done with pictures...
This is how she told me she smiled for her pictures. She's never done this curled in lip thing before, so we'll see how they turn out:)

Can't wait for recital!

Six Flags

Katie and I took the kids to Six Flags on Friday. I went back and forth about taking Grey several times, but ended up deciding to take him, and I'm so glad I did. He had a great time, and it made me really excited for our Disney trip in November.

I made the kids bring their jackets just in case, and I'm so glad I did. H and C really didn't want to, but I insisted, and they were thanking me when we got out of the car in Arlington to a windy, overcast day...

It did warm up for a little while (enough for me to burn!), but by the time we left, we were cold again.

The first ride was the teacups...
We couldn't all fit in one, so Grey, Katie and I rode separate from the rest of the kids...

Grey was a little unsure because he kept sliding around, but once I picked him up, he liked it.

After the teacups, Hunter, Charlotte, Vanesa, Alex (V's friend), and I went to ride the bobsled (which is now called la v---- -whatever the word for snake is in Spanish). While we did that, Katie and Zack rode the teacups again...
And then I saw little Grey running past our line, so giddy to be free of the stroller. We had a long wait ahead of us, so Katie and Zack took Grey to the carousel...
...and then the kiddie area...
So cute!
Katie said that Grey loved these slides and had a blast. It looks like it for sure!

We were in line for the bobsled for about an HOUR, and when it was finally done (H and C loved it!), we met the others for lunch. After lunch, we stood in line for the mini mine train. Grey was tall enough, but when I saw how fast it went, I decided that he shouldn't ride (I'm glad I made that decision, because when I rode it later, it was so jerky and fast). Grey and I just walked through when it was our turn to load, and waited for everyone to meet us after the ride ended. Then they all headed to the mine train, so I strolled Grey around until he fell asleep...
Everyone else rode the swings and maybe another ride? and then we headed to this Batman ride...
I think Grey would've liked it, but he was still sleeping, so Char and I and Hunter and Zack rode...

After that we waited for the train to take us to the other side of the park. Grey woke up before it arrived (it was a long wait)...

Then we all rode the log ride. As soon as he saw it, Grey exclaimed, "Watuh! Watuh!" over and over. This was the most adventurous ride we put him on. He loved it, but once we got to the big incline for the hill at the end, I started to get really nervous. His heart was racing after it was over, but he still said, "Yay!!" and clapped really hard as soon as we got off. He did that after every ride:)

We played at the kiddie playground some and then went for a snack...

Then Charlotte, Hunter, and I rode the Sombrero...

And then went over to the kiddie rides again...
These pictures don't come close to showing the sheer terror on Grey's face during this ride. He was definitely not a fan!

We rode several kiddie rides and then Zack, Hunter, Charlotte and I headed to the mine train, mini mine train, and swings and rode several times. It was about 8pm after we were done, so I took my kids and Zack home while Katie and the teen girls stayed until close.

It was a fun outing! Excited to go again soon!
